If you could meet anyone – dead or alive – who would you choose?
I would like to meet the neighbour who keeps putting diapers in my compost bin.

How do your creative ideas come to you?
Usually, they just show up and then I have to do something about them. Thankfully, they don't show up too often.

What can people do to make the world a more kind and beautiful place?
Take a moment to listen, really listen to each other,  and giving people's thoughts and feelings a bit of space. I think when people feel heard, they can then hear others. So often conversation seems like just a battle to be centre stage, and not an opportunity to listen and learn.

Can you please tell us a little about one or more creative projects you are working on?
I am co-hosting a podcast with friend, Jessica Delisle, called Retail Nightmares. We interview artists who have spent, or are still spending time working in retail, hospitality and customer service. The guest shares their worst stories, and we laugh very hard.

What is it you love about dogs?
My first friend was a dog. He was kind, patient, protective, silly and smart. And he smelled like wood smoke and wind. Dogs are simple yet noble and all at once, a totally humble creature.

If you had to describe yourself in one word, what word would it be?
COOKIES!!!!

Do you believe in God?
I am not sure. I find myself wondering when the air is particularly fresh, or something heartbreaking happens, how all of this beauty and destruction is happening all at once. But no, not one God. Just nature. I believe in that.

What is your favourite snack?
Cheese and apples. And cookies.

Alicia is well worth following on Twitter as well as joining for a monthly comedy show called Come Draw with Me at the Hot Art Wet City Gallery.
